On January 20th the Head Office of CLIMBS Life & General Insurance Cooperative was honored to host Assistant Secretary Vidal D. Villanueva III, the cluster head of Finance and Assistant Secretary Myrla B. Paradillo , cluster head of Human Services. Their visit was part of the oversight function of the CDA Board being the highest policy-making body of the CDA. The goal was to solicit matters or issues that affect cooperatives engaged in financial services in aid of policy-making.

The CDA Officials were welcomed by CLIMBS President & CEO, Mr. Noel Raboy, together with some members of the Top Management Team with a quick tour around the CLIMBS premises. In the business agenda was a brief presentation of the CLIMBS Profile and its Annual Report for the year 2019. Few key points concerning the cooperative affairs were discussed with both assistant secretaries assured that CLIMBS has started implementing the necessary actions needed even before the start of 2021 for the welfare of CLIMBS stakeholders and member-owners. In the end, the officers agreed that the long-held Cooperative Values and Principles are the guiding post in doing things the “cooperative way” and to further strengthen the sector and the cooperative moment.

In a light and special moment, the framed portrait of the late great cooperator, (Ret.) Judge Esperanza “Ma’am Inday” Fiel Garcia, which hangs in the boardroom hall of CLIMBS in honor of her being the Chairperson from 2006 to 2016 caught the attention of  ASEC Vidal Villanueva III,  who was pleasantly surprised to see the painting which made him reminisce on a few fond memories he had while working  with one of the great cooperative leaders in our country.
