CLIMBS ACTS ON #Coops4ClimateAction

Today marks the ceremonial turnover of seedlings to CLIMBS Employees, celebrating two events of our collective efforts on Climate Action celebrated on the 4th of July – The International Day of Cooperatives (IDC) and the Cagayan de Oro Arbor Day.

The International Day of Cooperatives’ theme this year is: “Cooperatives for Climate Action”, chosen specifically to address and support Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 on Climate Action.

On the other hand, Cagayan de Oro City’s Arbor Day is mandated by Ordinance No. 13548-2018, which states: All able-bodied residents of the City, who are at least twelve (12) years old and above are required to plant one (1) tree every year on the 4th of July.  Because of the pandemic, this year’s advocacy is “plant a tree while at home”.

Staying true to our #MoreThanJustProtection slogan, caring for our environment is one of CLIMBS’ core values that reflects our responsibility to the community. We enjoin everyone to participate and in order to make this more engaging, take a picture of the seedling you planted, make your post public, and use the following hashtags: #CoopsDay2020 #Coops4ClimateAction #COOPhGoesGreen #WeCLIMBaSOne #CLIMBSInsurance #TheGrassRootsInsurance #CDOArborDay2020.
